Bono exclusively for "Rzeczpospolita": U2 is working on a new album

I’m waiting for an interview with Bono in a suite at the Marriott Cannes hotel, with two journalist colleagues. An interview with the great Bono. A legend. An ordinary guy walks in. Unposed, open. Hugely empathetic. It makes you believe that his work for Amnesty International, his fight against poverty or epidemics in Africa, and finally his trip to Ukraine in May 2022, three months after the Russian invasion – there is no pretense or calculation in them.

His songs have always been rooted in reality, commenting on it, telling of our traumas and our longings. I ask, “What are you writing about today?” He answers, “About freedom.” And he admits that he is working with U2 on another album. We talk about “Bono: Stories of Surrender.”
